Artist of the Week: Duff McKagan’s Loaded
DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED are preparing for a variety of events and promotions around the April 7 release of their first full-length U.S. release, SICK.
First up: a special April 9 hometown in-store performance and signing for the band–Duff McKagan (guitar and vocals), Mike Squires (guitar), Jeff Rouse (bass) and Geoff Reading (drums)–at Seattle’s Crocodile Café. This gig will kick-off the group’s first ever U.S. tour and also includes gigs in New York, Nashville, Kansas City, Camden and Columbus’ Rock On The Range festival before the band heads overseas for a variety of festival dates.
In advance of the April 7 street date, a special pre-order of SICK (Century Media Records) was available at iTunes. Fans who pre-ordered the CD from iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPreorder?id=309032814&s=143441) will receive two exclusive tracks, “Roll Away,” a previously unreleased exclusive bonus track, along with an instrumental version of “Flatline,” the album’s first single. And as of March 31, LOADED fans can listen to the album at Rhapsody.com. In addition, The Sick listening party is featured on the homepage of AOLmusic.com.
SICK–which marks the band’s first full-length U.S. release in eleven years–is an all-out assault of pure rock and punk-infused fury that pulls no punches. LOADED encompasses what rock n’ roll should be all about, creating memorable songs with infectious hooks.
The video for the album’s first track “Flatline” just debuted on AOL–via Spinner and Noisecreep (http://www.noisecreep.com/2009/03/27/duff-mckagans-loaded-flatline-video-premiere/) Friday, March 27–and the track is already receiving airplay in a variety of markets including Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit and Seattle. LOADED will also be heard on the syndicated radio shows “Loveline” (April 6) and “Rockline” (April 8), as well as a day-of-release appearance on “Kevin and Bean” (KROQ, Los Angeles).
